History of the Clementine
It has been said that the Clementine was discovered by father Clement Rodier in 1902, a monk in Algeria while tending his mandarin garden. Father Rodier created a hybrid between a mandarin orange and a sweet orange.
The Clementine is an excellent eating orange due to the easily removable skin, sweetness and very few seeds. Clementines effortlessly separate into eight to twelve juicy segments. |
